I’m Tracey, the founder of Kindly Cosy, and I’m delighted to share a little about our journey. With over a decade of experience crafting candles and running a well-established candle company supplying some of the UK’s most beloved brands, I’ve built this business on a foundation of quality, care, and a deep love for what I do.

Kindly Cosy was born from my desire to create luxurious, phthalate-free scents that bring comfort and joy to your everyday moments. Hand-poured in the rolling hills of Somerset, England, each candle and wax melt is a testament to my passion for scenting spaces with beauty and warmth. Using only premium IFRA-certified fragrances, every product is thoughtfully crafted to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

But for me, candles are just one part of the story. A perfect pairing for a candle, in my eyes, has always been a good book. One day, while indulging my love for preloved treasures, I overheard a woman trying to donate a pile of nearly new books to a second-hand store, only to be turned away because they didn’t have space.

This encounter sparked something in me. I had already been working on ways to reduce waste in the candle industry—120 million candle vessels are discarded into landfill every year, a statistic that has driven me to develop reusable candle refills as a sustainable alternative. But I hadn’t realised the same issue extended to books until I learned that 320 million books also end up in landfill each year.

This moment of realisation inspired me to expand Kindly Cosy’s offerings to include preloved books. For me, preloved doesn’t mean less—it means mindful choices and discovering treasures with stories of their own. At Kindly Cosy, every book in our collection is carefully sourced and checked to ensure excellent quality. We then wrap each one in eco-friendly paper, creating a beautiful, gift-ready experience. Whether it’s for yourself or someone special, a preloved book paired with a luxurious candle is the ultimate treat to unwind and reconnect.
